Where memory meets color.
Femi Trimnell is a contemporary African artist whose work blends culture, memory, and emotion through bold color and expressive form. Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, he studied Fine Art at Yaba College of Technology before later earning a degree in Architecture from Howard University.
His work has been exhibited across the United States, West Africa, and the United Kingdom, with pieces featured in private and institutional collections worldwide. In 1994, several of his artworks were selected by UNICEF for international fundraising cards supporting children's programs.
Working in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media, Femi creates paintings that move between abstraction and figurative storytelling — often inspired by African life, heritage, spirituality, and human connection. His work is known for its vibrant palettes, layered textures, and quiet emotional depth.
Today, Femi continues to paint from his studio, creating pieces that preserve story, identity, and memory through art.
"Color is the only honest language I know."
